Local media plays an important role in providing relevant information to the local community. However, challenges in managing finances often become an obstacle to the sustainability of local media. While in fact, financial management is the key to media sustainability. Good financial management allows local media to expand their reach, both geographically and in terms of media format. Supervised financial management also ensures transparency in the distribution of public funds or donations. With this in mind, a workshop on this topic was held for the first time by Suara & IMS, especially for selected media that have been joining the Startup for Media Startup (MS) program.
